These terms and conditions govern your use of our website and services. Please read these terms in full before you use this website or our services. If you do not accept these terms and conditions, please do not use this website or our services. Your continued use of this website confirms your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions set out below. This agreement is between you and Big Lion Events Ltd. By paying in full or paying 50% non-refundable booking fee you also agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Terms and Conditions for Bouncy Castle Hire
Introduction These Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) govern the hire of bouncy castles and other inflatable equipment (referred to as "Bouncy Castle(s)") from Big Lion Events Ltd ("the Company"). By hiring a Bouncy Castle from us, the customer ("the Hirer") agrees to comply with these T&Cs.
2. Booking and Confirmation
The Hirer must make a booking via our website, phone, or email. All bookings are subject to availability.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total hire is required at the time of booking. The balance must be paid in full no later than 7 days before the hire date.
A booking confirmation will be sent to the Hirer once the deposit is received. This confirmation will include the booking details and the total amount due.
3. Delivery, Set-Up, and Collection
£5 delivery charge within Lancing, Sompting, Durrington, Worthing, Goring, Shoreham-By-Sea. Anything outside of this radius, will be charged extra (45p per mile).
The Hirer is responsible for ensuring the setup area is clear, dry, and free of debris before our team arrives. DO NOT cut the grass prior to the bouncy castle hire.
The Hirer must provide a safe and level space for the Bouncy Castle. The area must be large enough to accommodate the size of the inflatable (15ft x 11ft for each castle).
If we are unable to set up the Bouncy Castle due to inadequate space or unsuitable ground conditions, the hire will be cancelled, and no refund will be given.
The Hirer must ensure there is sufficient height in the venue, as castles can be quite tall.
The Hirer must ensure we have a clear path for transporting the bouncy castle to the setup area, and that the access points (gates, etc.) are wide enough.
The Hirer must ensure Bouncy castles are best set up on a flat, grassy surface, as it allows for secure pegging. Please clear the area of any debris and make sure the castle does not have overhanging trees and obstacles which may damage the castle.
Big Lion Events always prioritise safety - ensure adequate space for supervision and to prevent children from bumping into walls or other obstacles.
4. Insurance and Safety
The Hirer must ensure that an adult supervises the use of the Bouncy Castle at all times.
The Bouncy Castle must not be used in windy conditions (over 24mph). In extreme weather, the Hirer must contact us immediately to arrange early collection or cancellation.
The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that the number of users at any given time does not exceed the maximum capacity specified for the Bouncy Castle.

For a 15ft x 11ft Bouncy Castle, the maximum number of users is: 0-1 m – Max users 7 children, 1-1.2m – Max Users 6 Children, 1.2 – 1.4m – Max users 5 children.
The Hirer must ensure that users are not wearing shoes, glasses, or any items that could cause damage to the Bouncy Castle or cause injury.
The Hirer must ensure that children have not got any face paints on their persons whilst using the bouncy castle. Big Lion Events reserve the right to charge for cleaning if face paints are found on the castle.
Any damage caused to the Bouncy Castle or other equipment during the hire period must be reported immediately to us. The Hirer will be responsible for the cost of repairs or replacement.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
The final payment is refundable is the booking needs to be cancelled with 2 weeks’ notice of the event, within the 2 weeks, we can look at re-arranging the date (subject to availability).
The deposit payment is non-refundable.
In the event of adverse weather conditions (e.g., heavy rain, strong winds), we reserve the right to cancel the booking for safety reasons. The Hirer will be given the option to reschedule the hire (subject to availability). It is the Hirer’s risk for adverse weather; therefore, no refunds will be given.
6. Use of Bouncy Castle
The Bouncy Castle must only be used for its intended purpose and in a safe manner. The Hirer agrees to adhere to all safety guidelines.
The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that no one uses the Bouncy Castle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Bouncy Castle must be returned in the same condition as it was delivered. Any loss, damage, or cleaning required after the hire will result in additional charges.
The age suitable and max number of children for the equipment will be specified on the terms and conditions, it is the responsibility of the Hirer that a responsible adult over the age of 18 supervises the children.
Big Lion Events do not stay during the hire and supervise, unless pre-arranged.
Big Lion Events accepts no responsibility for damage, accidents or injuries that may occur during the hire of the equipment.
Big Lion Events take the safety of children very seriously, we ask that the large objects do not be moved as it disrupts the safety of the equipment. We will not accept any liability for accidents, injury, or damage during the period of hire if this has occurred.
Under no circumstances should adults use the equipment, over time this damages the equipment, and injury could occur to the adult or the children.
Adults and children should not sit or lean on any of the equipment.
Do not allow children with medical issues which means they are prone to injury on the equipment.
Do not allow older and younger children to mix on the equipment, this will risk injury.
No food, drink, face paints, chewing gum or other liquid of solids to be allowed on the equipment; any cleaning or damage because of this being ignore will be charged.
If the equipment is collected in an unacceptable dirty condition, the Hirer will be charged extra for deep cleaning.
No glass bottles or glasses on or near the equipment. Please make sure children do not wear their glasses on the equipment.
It is the Hirer’s responsibility to keep the equipment dry, if any liquid does occur, dry immediately. A cleaning charge will occur if this must be professionally removed.
No shoes on the bouncy castles, socks are a must.
No sharp objects to be worn on the equipment, re: badges, earrings, jewellery, piercings etc. Please remove these items before using the equipment.
Any damage to the equipment including but not limited to scratches, tears, holes, rips, intentional damage, staining and pen marks which incurs and additional cost to repair or replace will be charged to the Hirer.
No acrobatics or gymnastics on the Bouncy Castles.
Please ensure the children are kind and courteous to other children on the equipment, therefore no pushing or fighting happens. This can cause injury.
Please do not exceed the number limits as specified on Bouncy Castles.
No furniture on the equipment, including the mats.
No smoking, barbeques, or naked flames near the equipment. Any damage because of this being ignored will be charged.
Do not allow pets or animals near or on the equipment.
It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that no equipment is stolen or lost, we will make sure all items are accounted for upon collection; anything missing, and a replacement will be charged.
If the Hirer takes the risk of an outside hire, please cover the Bouncy Castle if it starts raining. Failure to do so will damage the equipment and this will be charged.
Do not allow children on the equipment if it is wet, please wipe down the equipment with a towel before the children re-use the equipment; failure to do so will put the children at risk of injury.
Big Lions will come to collect the equipment upon completion of the hire, do not allow anyone else to collect the equipment.
Please ensure you take all reasonable precautions to protect the equipment from damage.
Please ensure that you take all reasonable precautions to protect the child / user from harm and danger. This is most important to Big Lions; we want the children to have fun, but their safety is always paramount.
Do not allow anyone to bounce on the step/front apron. The step is there to help users get on and off. If your inflatable has a slide, please ensure it is used for sliding down and not climbing up, this will help avoid accidents and collisions.
Ensure that no-one with a history of back or neck problems are allowed on the inflatable. No pregnant persons.
Do not allow users to be on the unit during inflation or deflation.
In the event of heavy rain, it is strongly recommended that the inflatable be switched off. Any wetness, including bubbling can be dried with a towel. Keep the unit inflated during small showers, and then when the shower has passed wipe the unit down with a towel. **
If the extension lead overheats, or loses power, switch the blower off at the mains, and then switch it back on again a few minutes later and it should restart. Ensure the blower is kept upright and the vent is always kept clear of obstruction. Do not plug other devices into our extension leads or overload your supply.
7. Liability and Disclaimer
Provided that the equipment is used in accordance with the above safety instructions and conditions of hire, those using the inflatable should do so safely without injury. Big Lion Events will not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from the use or misuse of the Bouncy Castle.
The Hirer agrees to indemnify the Company against any claims arising from the use of the Bouncy Castle during the hire period.
The Hirer acknowledges that, although the Company will take every precaution to ensure the safety and condition of the Bouncy Castle, use of the inflatable is at the Hirer's own risk.
The equipment will be in the hirer’s possession (**) and control whilst in use and not under the control of Big Lion Events and any liability for injuries or other losses caused, other than in the circumstances described above, rests with the hirer.
It is strongly recommended that the hirer has their own adequate public liability insurance (**) covering his or her liability arising from the use of the inflatable. By accepting these terms and conditions, you are bound, and you accept full responsibility for loss, damage, breakages, accidents and full liability of this hire and the items provided.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions will restrict our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, neither will any of these terms restrict any of your statutory rights.
** = This does not apply if you have a ‘manned’ hire – i.e. a member of staff from Big Lion Events operating the unit, thus it is upon them to run this, with your full backup and support.
8. Hire Contract
This website is operated by Big Lion Events ("we", "us" or "our"). All bookings made via this website or otherwise are governed by these Terms and Conditions at any time. It is your responsibility as the Hirer to read and understand these Terms and Conditions of Hire PRIOR to making a booking. We will confirm acceptance of your booking immediately after you have paid your deposit.
The Contract will be between Big Lion Events (“First Party”) and the Hirer (“Second Party”) and will need to be signed prior the hire commencing once the equipment has been set-up and the Hirer is satisfied.
9. Prices
Prices are true at the time of the booking, inclusive of VAT where applicable and the current rate.
Unless a technical error has occurred, the price stated on the website is the one you will be charged.
If you would like to amend of add the order, this can be done by contacting Big Lion Events and the prices will be amended for the item(s) changed once this has been confirmed.
Big Lion Events charges 45p per mile post the 10 miles radius of the £5 delivery areas. £5 delivery within Lancing, Sompting, Durrington, Worthing, Goring, Shoreham-By-Sea.
10. Availability
We will confirm the equipment that will be hired on the booking confirmation, however there are times when these items become unavailable due to damage or other unexpected circumstances, if this arises, we will replace the item with something similar.
11. Special Requests
Any special requests regarding the setup or use of the Bouncy Castle must be made at the time of booking. We will do our best to accommodate the Hirer's requests but cannot guarantee specific requirements.
12. Equipment Return
The Hirer must ensure that the Bouncy Castle is fully deflated and clear of any users before the agreed collection time.
If the Hirer fails to let us pack down the Bouncy Castle by the agreed time, additional charges may apply for late collection.
13. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
The Company reserves the right to amend these T&Cs at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the Hirer before the hire date.
14. Governing Law
Governing Law These T&Cs shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
